Our Wedding

Our ceremony is happening in a place that means a lot to us.Foggwood Road is where I grew up with my grandparents, and where some of my favorite memories were made.They used to take us to this pond and tell usit was a secret—That it was all ours!Even now, if you listen closely, you might just hear a little bit of that magic still hanging in the air.It’s also where their ashes were spread, which makes it feel like the perfect place to begin this next chapter. Getting there involves a bit of a hike—about half a mile in, and half a mile back out.The trail is mostly easygoing, except for the beginning and the end,we like to keep things interesting (a little steep and rocky). Once at the pond there are:No chairsNo microphonesLimited spaceSo, it may be a little rustic, a little cozy, and a little“lean in and hope you heard that right.” It is the Fourth of July, so:It might be hotThere might be bugsThere will definitely be nature If you’re up for a little hike and a meaningful moment in the woods, we would absolutely love to have you there. If your idea of a good time skips the woods, bugs, and uphill moments—we completely get it. Meet us back at the house for the PARTY.Cold drinks, good food, flamingos, and zero hiking required. However you join us—we can’t wait to celebrate with you. Please make sure you are at the meeting spot at or before noon. Noon is the time we will start walking into the woods. Don't get left behind!!

The Ceremony Dress Code: Woodland Chic We’re tying the knot in the woods—with a bit of a hike to get there—so dress for love and the trail!Please wear red, white, or blue (or any version of that you choose) and choose outfits you can comfortably walk in.Flowy dresses, festive outfits, and summer vibes encouraged.Flat shoes only—sneakers, boots, - think sturdy.No heels, no wedges—this is a roots-and-dirt kind of runway.Think: Fourth of July meets forest adventure—with solid footwear.Cute, comfy, and ready to wander. Pool Party and BBQ Come dressed to impress… or at least to cannonball!Think Red, White &amp; Blue BBQ Chic meets Poolside Party Ready.Bathing suits encouraged (yes, really—this is your moment).Cover-ups, sundresses, tanks &amp; flip flops welcome.Rock your best patriotic flair—stars, stripes, sparkles, or all three!Bonus points for flamingos, floaties, or anything fabulously ridiculous!

Directions to the Ceremony- The End of Foggwood Road GPS is your best option. The best address to use is 235 Foggwood Road, Fairfield CT 06824. When you get close to Foggwood Road your GPS may not work very well so here are the back roads once you get off the highway..... From NYMerritt Exit 21 Take exit 21 toward Westport/CT-57/Weston.Go for 0.2 mi. Turn left onto Weston Rd (CT-57) toward Westport.Go for 230 ft. Keep left onto Weston Rd.Go for 151 ft. Located just off Interstate 84, this hotel is 2.6 miles from Quassy Amusement Park. The hotel features an on-site restaurant, a gift shop, and a free area shuttle. Our reception will include one very friendly dog named Misti. Misti believes she is: Part security teamPart hostessandPossibly the actual reason everyone came. She may bark a couple times when you arrive, mostly to let the flamingos know you’ve made it safely. After that, she will happily accept pets, compliments, and snacks directly from your hand like the woodland queen she is. A few important notes:She is very niceShe is very spoiledShe would absolutely eat an alarming amount of BBQ food if given the opportunity Please no bones or anything that could send the bride to an emergency vet on her wedding night. Thank you for respecting Misti’s boundaries, supporting peaceful flamingo relations, and understanding that this is technically her party too.

A Note about Misti

After planning a Fourth of July wedding in the woods followed by a pool party reception, we’ve decided there is no weather situation dramatic enough to stop this event. So whether the forecast calls for blazing sun, surprise rain, humidity that challenges everyone’s hair choices, or all of the above—we’re doing this. Please dress comfortably, prepare for the outdoors, and embrace the chaos. No matter the weather there will still be:A weddingBBQFlamingosand at least a few people pretending they’re “not that hot.” At this point, we’re committed. The flamingos are committed.
